Avery Brown, 28, of Union, passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025, in Union, MO.
Avery was born October 23, 1996, in Tulsa, OK to Jim and Misty Brown. He was married to Maci Sue Golay on July 27, 2023, in St. Louis, MO. She survives.
Other survivors include his parents, Jim Brown of Chamois, MO and Misty Brown of Owasso, OK; one sister, Kristen Houston; maternal grandparents, Charles and Peggy Brown; and paternal grandpa, Don Brown.
Avery was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Nan "Nana" Brown.
A proud graduate of Owasso High School in Oklahoma, he went on to apply his skills as a steel cutter at EMJ Manufacturing in Union, Missouri.
Beyond his professional life, Avery was a man of diverse interests and talents. He found joy in playing video games, 3D printing, and figurine building. A voracious reader, he favored non-fiction, always seeking to expand his knowledge and understanding of the world. His love for the show "Mythbusters" was a testament to his curious and inquisitive nature.
A true fan at heart, Avery's enthusiasm for the OK State Cowboys was infectious. His culinary skills shone brightest when barbecuing, a talent that brought friends and family together to savor his delicious creations. Avery's love for food extended to dining out, where he enjoyed the flavors of sushi, pizza, and Mexican cuisine. Avery's connection to the land was rooted in his cherished moments spent at his great-grandfather's farm in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. His appreciation for nature's beauty was further reflected in his love for traveling to the Rocky Mountains and the Denver, Colorado area, where he found peace and adventure. He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
A Graveside Service will be at 1:00 pm Monday, March 10, 2025, at Greenmount Cemetery in Quincy. Rev. Tim Woodard will officiate.
